Slow Cooker Paleo Dinners

The slow cooker is going to become your new best friend when you are planning meals and trying to simplify the cooking process. The following dinners are healthy, paleo-friendly, and can be cooked in the slow cooker while you are at work or running errands.

Beef Stew

What could be better than a nice beef stew? This is a meal you can make for paleo and can also put in the slow cooker. One thing to note is that when using raw meat, you should really cook it at least partially beforehand in a pan. Heat some beef chuck or flank stank on a pan for a few minutes on each side. Remove it from the pan, and cut it into cubes. Put the beef into the slow cooker with your water or broth, and stew vegetables like carrots, peas, and celery. You are just going to omit the potatoes, which are often found in a stew. However, you can add sweet potatoes or cauliflower in its place. Let it cook all day so that it is ready to eat by the time you return home.

Stuffed Bell Peppers

You can also make yourself some stuffed bell peppers, with a few exceptions. These need to be paleo-friendly so that you won’t be using rice or bread crumbs in the stuffed peppers. However, the rest includes ground beef and seasonings, tomatoes, Worcestershire sauce and onions. Add the mixture to bell peppers that have been sliced in half with the seeds removed. Put them in the slow cooker to cook all day.

Pork Chops and Apples

Pork chops are not only a good option for a one-pot meal, but you can also put them in the slow cooker. All you need to do is season the pork chops with some honey and cinnamon, then put them in the slow cooker over sliced apples. Sprinkle more honey and cinnamon on top and let them cook for about 6-8 hours on low or 4 hours on high. When they’re ready, put a pork chop and spoonful of apples onto each plate for an easy and healthy paleo dinner.

When using a slow cooker, remember not to use raw meat but to pan-fry it for a few minutes first. You should also add your seasonings last in most cases.
