Paleo Kitchen Gadgets

When you first start on any diet, you need to take a hard look at your kitchen and see if your kitchen gadgets will actually let you make anything on your new meal plan. After all, if you are going on a juice diet and you don’t have a juicer, you might find yourself in some trouble. This is yet another area where eating Paleo rocks. You don’t need any fancy equipment to get started on the Paleo path, in fact, all you need is some basic kitchen utensils and a little patience.

So let’s say that you just started eating Paleo and you don’t have the money right now to go out and buy anything new for your kitchen. Even if you just have a shredder, a peeler, and a pan, you can still make a delicious sunny-side-up egg sitting on a bed of sweet potato hash.

When you are ready to invest in a new kitchen gadget to expand your Paleo horizon, try a crockpot. If you are working away from home and hate the thought of cooking when you walk in the door, (we’ve all been there), then a crockpot just might save your sanity and your waistline. With nothing more than a crockpot, you can throw in a pork loin, a few pinches of cinnamon, and a few apple chunks and have a delicious dinner waiting for you when you get home.

At some point, you will be ready to ‘up your Paleo game’, and make even more delicious recipes. This is when you might want to think of getting a mixer or a blender. With these items, you can make your own sauces, mayonnaise, salad dressings, or even create delicious desserts like brownies and cakes.

Once you are at the point where you have invested in the crockpot and the blender, you will indeed have become addicted to Paleo and the easy meal options that fall into this healthy lifestyle. In fact, you may even find yourself becoming more adventurous with your recipes. If you are looking to make things like Paleo bread, pizza dough, pie crusts, and more, you might want to get a food processor. A processor doesn’t just handle the simple things like shredding cheese for your salads or slicing vegetables for you to grill, it can also do more difficult jobs like kneading dough and grinding up nuts. But getting a food processor can be a bit of a burden on your wallet (they typically cost anywhere from $100-$200), so it might not be something you want to get until you are sure that you have enough recipes to back up the investment that you will be making.

One of the biggest fears most people have about eating healthy is the price tag that comes along with it. But eating Paleo is different, this is a healthy eating lifestyle that literally anyone can benefit from. Whether you are just starting out with a few dollars in your pocket and some small kitchen gadgets, or you have a huge grocery budget and all of the latest kitchen appliances, you will be able to find a Paleo recipe that will work for you. After all, when you think about it, the cavemen didn’t have any fancy kitchen gadgets, and they were still some of the strongest, healthiest, and most fit people that ever lived.
